Mac OS 10.10 name revealed in new banner at WWDC

With WWDC approaching, Apple has been in full gear setting up the Moscone Center in preparation for the conference. Earlier today, the iOS 8 banner went up, confirming that the new iOS version would be making an appearance. Now, Apple has hoisted a new banner that hints at the the upcoming release of a new version of Max OS X.

The banner shows a massive X in front of a cliff face in the background, which is believed to be that of El Capitan, a well known rock formation in Yosemite National Park in California. Judging by this banner, it is now expected that Apple will be continuing with the California-themed OS names, and that we will see the announcement of OS X Yosemite on Monday. This is consistent with rumors earlier this year, which connected trademark filings for names such as Yosemite, Redwood, and Mammoth to Apple shell companies.

The official announcement of OS X Yosemite will take place on June 2nd, and we will be providing live coverage of the while event. Check back on Monday at 10 AM PST, and read this post for more information.
