Today, Apple released a new version of iOS, 8.1.1. The patch notes state that it improves performance of the iPad 2, and iPhone 4S, however, the firmware is available for all devices. It was reported that the beta version of 8.1.1 killed the iOS 8 Pangu jailbreak so it can almost fully be confirmed that there will be no jailbreak for this firmware.
For those that are new to iOS there is no way to downgrade so we recommend not updating unless it is necessary. For most people iOS 8.1.1 will mean little difference and it is clearly advantageous to stay on the jailbreakable firmwares between 8.0 and 8.1. As always, we will report on any new jailbreak speculation.
It has been confirmed that Pangu has been patched!
