Just a few hours ago a new jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1 was released. Branded as TaiG the jailbreak will work for all devices that can run on iOS 8. For now TaiG is only for windows, however, there is a good chance that it will ported to the Mac soon. Also note that Apple is signing iOS 8.1 if you wish to downgrade and jailbreak using Pangu.
Last year TaiG released a jailbreak on christmas that was the primary jailbreak for iOS 7. They have also gotten a lot of hate for there bundled software that promotes piracy so use at your own risk.

The process is quite simple as most of the recent jailbreaks. When on the first screen feel free to uncheck the second box which will help you avoid installing not needed software.
