A jailbreak for iOS 8.1.2 has existed for a while, however, it has been a while since it was possible to jailbreak on a Mac. A few days ago a new jailbreak was released named PP Ghost which brings that very functionality. It is speculated that PP Ghost uses the same exploits as TiaG, the only difference is that is that there are a few more steps and it is bundled for Mac. Similar to TiaG, this jailbreak will work fully untethered for all devices.

Steps
1. If you have ever updated via OTA then it is highly recommended that you restore you device prior to the jailbreak. Jailbreaking after using OTA has been known to cause many problems throughout the process.
2. Connect your device to your computer then open iTunes
3. Once you verify that your device is connected, close iTunes and open PPGHost
4. Turn on Airplane mode on your device, then turn off Find my iPhone and your passcode until the jailbreak is over.
5. Click the button on the bottom left to start the jailbreak. Make sure not to touch your device while the jailbreak is in progress.
6. When opening Cydia for the first time make sure to not let your device sleep/lock while its reorganizing.
