OS X Yosemite apps receive major updates

Apple announced the new features of their apps for OS X Yosemite today at WWDC, and showed off the new features that they are most proud of. Check here for the big updates for each app.

Mail

Mail received a new feature called Mail Drop, which enables users to send files larger than 20 MB via email. This feature uses iCloud to store files up to 5 GB while they are sent. This is super exciting, and will make sending files via email much less of a pain.

Another feature in Mail is Markup, which lets you edit images and files in Mail, without having to use an image editing program. You can use this to do things like point things out in images, or even sign PDF files.

Safari

Safari also received some big updates. The unified bar is now even smarter, and can provide useful suggestions and completions via Spotlight. Tabs can now be continuously scrolled, and there is a new “Tab View”.

Safari has also received major speed updates, and performs very well on JavaScript tests.
