How to Jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 with TaiG for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5s, 5c

811

Last week, the TaiG jailbreak was released to provide an untethered jailbreak for all devices that run iOS 8.0 to iOS 8.1.1. This includes all of the following:

  • iPhone (6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s)
  • iPad (2, 3, 4, Air, Air 2, mini 1, mini 2, mini 3)
  • iPod touch 5

Below is a tutorial for jailbreaking your device on iOS 8.1.1 using the TaiG application. Unfortunately, TaiG currently only works on Windows, so if you are running Mac OS you will have to run Windows in a virtual machine to jailbreak your device. To begin, download TaiG from our downloads page, restore your device to iOS 8.1.1, and back it up to prevent any data loss. Be sure to disable Find My iPhone and your passcode. Then follow these directions:

1. Connect your iDevice to your computer with the USB cable.

2. Right click the TaiG application and run as administrator.

3. When the application opens and finds your device, locate the second option below the one that says “Cydia”

4. Uncheck the second option so that TaiG only installs Cydia.

5. Click the big green button.

6. Done!

You can also follow the video tutorial:

Once complete, you should be able to unlock your device and find Cydia on the home screen. Be sure to keep checking back for updates on the newest iOS releases once Apple patches the jailbreak.
